The long and protracted saga of Yaya Touré may very well come to an end

The long and protracted saga of Yaya Touré may very well come to an end in the summer as Inter Milan are stepping up their pursuit of the Ivory Coast midfielder.

Toure has long been a transfer target for Inter, who have been able to make significant steps in the right direction under the management of Roberto Mancini. However, the former City manager reckons that it will take a lot more in order to get on the club back to winning ways in the Italian Serie A. The club has not won the league title for the last four seasons.

Even though they have begun the campaign in reasonable form, Juventus have been the team to beat in the last few months. Toure was linked with Inter even last summer but he was persuaded to stay at Etihad stadium by the likes of Manuel Pellegrini. After a disappointing campaign, Toure also sensed that this was not the right time to move. He has rediscovered his form in the 2015-16 season but it has nowhere been near his best. Toure was a major force in helping City win the league title during the 2013-14 season. Toure’s agent recently admitted that he will not rule out the possibility of his client joining Inter.

“He will not move in January. However, in the summer things can change. We are ready to listen to any offers that are on the table,” said Toure’s agent in an interview to an Italian television channel. The 32-year-old will now sense that this is probably his last opportunity to secure a move to a big club because he is entering into the last few years of his career. Further, moving to Italy will also help him extend his playing days since the Serie A is known for its relaxed pace.
