Yaya Toure is struggling to get playing time under Guardiola

Ever since Yaya Toure joined Manchester City back on July of 2010 and the African midfielder has managed to become a pivotal figure for the Premier League who has helped the English club in winning 2 domestic league titles, 1 FA Cup, 1 FA Community Shield and 2 Football League Cups.

Yaya Toure has consistently been making over 28 appearances in every single season at the Etihad Stadium but things has taken a huge turn as Pep Guardiola does not appear to have the midfielder in his plans.

Manchester City has played 3 Premier League matches and Yaya Toure has not been featured in any of those matches. West Ham United, Stoke City and Sunderland are all of the opponents that Pep Guardiola and his men has already faced off with during these 3 opening matches of the season but Yaya Toure was not even on the sidelines in any of these games.

Along with Sergio Aguero, Yaya Toure has easily one of the most important players in the recent era of success of Manchester City and seeing him getting dropped to not even the sidelines is something surprising but at the same time, shocking to see as the African midfielder has for the past few years been the backbone of the Premier League club.

Even though the impact that Yaya Toure has made at the Etihad Stadium is undeniable, Pep Guardiola has still managed to push Manchester City to the top of the Premier League with 3 successive victories out of their initial 3 matches.

Toure did not get a single minute of playing time in any of those 3 games but Manchester City still came out on top with the victory and this might just mean that the Ivorian player does not have a significant role at the Premier League club.

The 33 year old African midfielder did say that he wants to impress Pep Guardiola and get back his position in the main team but from the looks of it, Guardiola appears to have his mind set on which players are going to be in his first team and it seems like Toure will have a tough job trying to get back in the squad.
