Guardiola looking to strengthen City

Pep Guardiola is looking to strengthen his team during the transfer window so as to be able to compete with the likes of Chelsea for the title.

Manchester City struggled to beat Chelsea last time both sides met and were brushed aside by the physicality and skills of the London club’s players.

Pep Guardiola feels that he needs some additional players to help his team challenge for the title. It is believed that the Spanish manager is interested in signing Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid in order to strengthen their attacking options.

Indeed Manchester City only has Aguero as a recognized striker at the moment, and they would feel that the addition of Griezman in the team will help the team progress.

However, this could be a difficult with Manchester United also reportedly interested in signing the striker. But with Manchester United looking more like a work in progress at the moment, Guardiola will want to believe that the French international will choose them over their neighbors.

The Spanish manager has hinted that his club might make a move for Alexis Sanchez if ever the deal for Antoine Griezman does not go through. He said that he has always been a great admirer of the Chilean international and admitted that he might have played the winger out of position when he was managing Barcelona. He believes that Sanchez has adapted well to the pace of the Premier League and that he will be a great player for Manchester City.

Sanchez has yet to agree on a new deal with Arsenal, and with the way the Gunners are performing at the moment, the forward might be tempted to move to Manchester City where he will have a better chance of winning the Premier League title instead of staying with London club.
