Roberto Mancini again comment on signing Yaya Touré

Inter Milan manager Roberto Mancini has once again spoken about the possibility of signing midfielder Yaya Touré from Manchester City.

Touré was at his imperious best when he played under Mancini. He has never been the same under Manuel Pellegrini. Several conflicting actions between the club and the player seemed to have deteriorated their relationship to a point of no return. Mancini’s relationship with Inter though could have a defining moment in the potential move of the player. This is after the club failed to qualify for the Champions League once again despite spending a lot of money.

A fourth-place finish looks likely and it will mean a return to the Europa League. At this point, it remains to be seen if the club will authorise a move for a 33-year-old player, who has clearly not been at his best in the last 24 months. Touré has been a shadow of his former self, but Mancini continues to praise the Ivory Coast international by claiming that the Italian league has not yet witnessed a player like Touré. The midfielder is almost certain to leave City after giving one of his worst displays in the Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid. Since he does not get along well with new manager Pep Guardiola, who will arrive in the summer, his exit certainly seems to be on the cards.

"A player like him has never been seen in Italy. Some criticise him for the Champions League, but in Serie A there are no players like him. I still have a year's contract. If the club and fans are happy, I'll stay. It's important to understand the situation. If we all keep working hard and working together, I think we'll be able to enjoy some success,” said Mancini about his future and the possibility of Touré coming to the San Siro.
