PARK WANTS ONE MORE

Former Manchester United star Park Ji sung has claimed that he will want to spend one more season with PSV Eindhoven before deciding on his future.

Park made his name at PSV before moving to Manchester United where he spent several successful seasons. As he is coming to the end of his career, United decided to let him go and he had spells at QPR before coming back to PSV. It has been widely rumoured in the last few weeks that Park would hang up his boss at the end of the season due to his failure to recover sufficiently from a persistent knee injury.

However, the South Korean international has confirmed that he will stay at PSV for one more year before thinking about his future. It is thought that he may even return to play in South Korea for another season before eventually retiring. Park has been thought of as a potential star at the World Cup 2014, but the midfielder rejected any possibility of being with the national team for this World Cup. Park came to prominence during the 2002 World Cup and he has been regarded as one of the best players ever for the South Korean national team.

PSV Eindhoven have stated that they would be happy to extend the contract of their star midfielder. However, ongoing problems at the club, which has seen them slip to 5th place in the table, could see a different decision in the summer. Park will be hoping to extend his contract before then. The midfielder has also stated that he will be ready for next season following a couple of weeks of break towards the end of this campaign. The 33-year-old has scored two goals in the 21 league appearances he has made for the club this season.
