TOSTAO: RONALDO AND MESSI STILL NOT ON PELE’S LEVEL

World Cup winner Tostao says despite the huge achievements of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, Pele remained the greatest to kick a ball. He opines that the Brazilian soccer legend is better than all the currently rated best players in history.

Tostao says Pele remains the most complete footballer without a single defect. He complained that Messi does not head the ball like Pele or shoot as well with both feet. He feels Pele did more moves than the Barcelona star. On Ronaldo, he feels the former Manchester United and Real Madrid forward does not have exceptional abilities that Pele had such as passes.

He feels the best way to get a player comparable to Pele is to combine the abilities of Ronaldo and Messi. He praised Maradona of Argentina but says he wasn’t on Pele’s level physically or score as much goals.
Pele, when asked, still saw himself as the best player ever compared to Messi and Ronaldo. He says Messi is the best in his time but prefers the consistency of Ronaldo.
Ronaldo has scored over 700 career goals while Messi recently reached the milestone. Considering minutes played per game plus assist, Ronaldo has a career G/A for every 85.6 minutes while if Messi goes 15,000 minutes without scoring, his career G/A would be 85.3 minutes. Both stars have incredible goals and assists record that might never be matched again.
The argument about who is better is one that would probably never end. While Messi’s six Ballon d’Or awards gives him an edge, Ronaldo’s achievements in various clubs, club and international level seem to even it out.
